Thank you to all that participated in our Microsoft integration beta test. After much deliberation, we have decided not to pursue this integration. In order to provide a quality product, Copper has chosen to focus on our Google partnership and will soon focus on supporting G Suite users exclusively.
For potential new users, you are still able to utilize Copper for contact and sales management, but please be aware that you will not have the ability to sync, send or receive emails within Copper, track conversations, sync calendar events, or utilize our browser extension.
For existing users, there will not be a direct replacement for the Microsoft integration. It is recommended that you consider alternative vendor solutions as early as possible. We understand that this announcement may be unwelcome news to you and your organization.
We will retain limited functionality for existing accounts and companies transitioning away from Gmail until our Microsoft integration end of life date, November 2020.
When you sign up for Copper with your Microsoft Outlook 365 account, the Outlook sync is activated to help you keep track of your Outlook communications with contacts that are in Copper.
In this module, we'll cover the following:
Copper’s Microsoft integration will allow you to sign up for Copper using your Outlook 365 email address. Copper will then sync both your Outlook emails and Outlook calendar events seamlessly into your account.
Your email and interaction history is organized neatly into an activity feed on your contact records so that you and your team will always be aware of the latest interaction.
Copper will also automatically detect new leads and contacts to add to the system based on your email correspondence.
With Outlook Calendar syncing, appointments and meetings in Outlook Calendar get automatically synced into Copper—and vice versa. When any changes are made to either calendar, the updates sync between Copper and Outlook Calendar so you’ll always stay on schedule without having to add to or edit both calendars.
Setting up Copper to sync with your Outlook Calendar and emails is as simple as signing up with an Outlook email address.
As you go through the sign up flow to start your trial of Copper, you'll be prompted to enter your full name and an email address.
Based on that email address, Copper will be able to identify that you're using an Outlook account.
Next, you'll be asked to allow Copper to access your Outlook info. This includes access to your emails and calendar. Click 'Yes' on the pop-up.
That's it. After allowing access, you'll be brought into Copper and asked to provide your Organization's name, a phone number and company size.
Once you're logged in, we recommend reviewing our Getting Started Guide for Admins or our Getting Started Guide for Users. This will walk you through how to start setting up your preferences and workflows in Copper.
The contacts that you’ve corresponded with in your Outlook inbox, but are not yet in Copper, will appear as “Suggested Contacts” in your dashboard. These are contacts we believe you should add into Copper, but feel free to skip them if they aren’t business contacts.
You can choose to add them as a Person. After they've been added, any emails you exchange will be synced to their record.
To convert a Suggested Contact to a Person, follow the steps below:
- Sign into your Copper account, and click 'Dashboard' from the left-hand menu.
- Scroll down to the 'Suggested Contacts' box, and click the 'Add' button to the right of any contact you'd like to add.
When you add Suggested Contacts into Copper, all of your email correspondence between you and that contact will show up in Copper automatically under the contact’s profile. You can also add your contacts directly to Copper by clicking the + icon or the 'Add New' button in Leads or People anytime.
Once a Lead or People record has been created for your contact, their email will be synced under their record.
When you add a new lead or person to Copper, we'll sync Outlook emails between that Lead or Person and any Copper Company User from the last 365 days, plus any emails you continue to exchange with the Lead or Person.
You can sync tasks and calendar events from Copper to Outlook Calendar so your schedule is showcased in a single place.
As you schedule meetings with customers and create tasks within Copper, both events will sync to your Outlook Calendar. They will also be visible in the 'Related' section of a record in Copper.
A calendar event will show up in Outlook Calendar as an invite to a customer, whereas a task will arrive at Outlook Calendar only visible to the Copper user who created it.
