The ‘Today’ Dashboard is the first thing you’ll see when you log into Copper each day, so it makes sense to have it display information that is important and relevant to you. That’s why Copper allows you to customize your dashboard to fit your needs.

Customizing allows you to choose which pieces of information you’ll see, as well as their size and placement on the screen.

Copper Admin can also customize the Company Dashboard and add or remove specific dashboard cards from their user’s dashboards.

Understand the Dashboard Cards

Read below to understand what information each dashboard card displays. Then, click the link if you’d like to learn more.

  • Calendar (required) - The calendar card let’s you know what meetings and tasks you have today. It connects with your Google Calendar to pull in events that were created in Copper or in Gcal.

  • Add Suggested People - We’ll suggest contacts that might be useful to add into Copper. Click the “x” to remove them from the list of suggestions.

  • Invite Team Members (Admin) - Copper will look for contacts with the same email domain as you and suggest adding them as Copper users. This card is only visible to Admin.

  • My Open Tasks - This card will display any open tasks that you’ve created or have been assigned to you.

  • Recently Contacted - Here we’ll show you People and Companies that you’ve recently been in contact with. Switch between record types by clicking the dropdown arrow.

  • Records I'm Following - If you’ve followed any records, we’ll display those here. Records can be followed by clicking the star icon next to them. You can switch between record types by clicking the dropdown arrow.

  • Sales Forecast - This will display the Sales Forecast report which projects incoming revenue based on Opportunity close date.

  • Pipeline Summary - This will display the Pipeline Summary report which is a summary of your pipeline by stage, based on Opportunity close date.

Customize your Dashboard

  1. To get started, navigate to the Copper Dashboard by clicking on the house icon on the navigation bar. Make sure you’re on the “Today” tab as this is the part you’re able to customize.

  2. Click the gear icon in the upper right corner of the screen and select “Edit layout”.

  3. At the top of the screen, click “Show & Hide Cards”. This will allow you to enable or disable which dashboard cards are visible. By default, all cards will be enabled.

  4. Select the desired cards and click “Close” when you’re finished.

  5. You can also choose to hide cards in edit mode by clicking the eye icon in the upper right corner of the card.

  6. Now that you’ve selected your dashboard cards, it’s time to resize and arrange them.

  7. To resize a card, click the 3 line triangle in the bottom left or right corner of the card and drag it.

    • Width wise, a card can either occupy the full width of the dashboard, or half the width.

    • Length wise, a card can occupy as much space as you wish.

  8. To arrange the cards, click in the center of the card and drag it to the desired position on the dashboard. The other cards will move to accommodate the placement of a newly arranged card.

  9. When you’re finished, click “Save Layout” in the upper right corner, and that’s it! You’ve now got the information you want, where you want it, each time you open Copper.

Customize as an Admin

  1. As an Admin, you can customize both your personal dashboard, the Company Dashboard, and you can decide what dashboard cards your users have access to in their own customization.

  2. To get started, you can either navigate to Settings > Dashboard or simply click the gear icon in the upper right corner of your actual dashboard, then select “Show and hide cards for your team”.

  3. From this screen, you can enable or disable specific dashboard cards for both individual user dashboards and the Company Dashboard. Please note that you must have at least one visible dashboard card.

    • Disabling cards from the individual user dashboard column will remove your user’s access to view them.

  4. When you’re finished, navigate back to the dashboard icon on the navigation panel to view your changes.

    • You can switch between your own dashboard, the Company Dashboard, and your individual user’s dashboards by clicking your name to the left universal search bar.
