Use Board View, List View, saved filters, and pipeline flags to create a focused workspace for managing opportunities in Copper.
Board View is helpful when you want to move opportunities between stages. List View is helpful when you want a spreadsheet-style layout that you can sort, scan, and customize.
Customize Board View cards
1. Open your pipeline in Board View.
2. Click the settings gear in the upper-right corner.
3. Select Board view card fields.
4. Choose the fields you want to show on each opportunity card.
π‘ Tip: For a quick sales workflow, add fields like Days in Stage and Last Contacted. These help you see whether an opportunity is stalled, and whether the team has been staying in touch with the contact.
Customize List View columns
1. Switch to List View.
2. Open the settings gear.
3. Select List view columns.
4. Turn columns on or off based on what you want to review.
You might remove columns your team does not use often, then add fields like Close Date, Priority, Days in Stage, or Inactive Days.
After choosing your columns, drag the most important ones toward the left side of the table. You can also resize columns so the information is easier to scan.
Save the view as a filter
Once your columns are set up, save the view as a filter so you can return to it later.
For example, create a filter for open opportunities owned by a specific rep:
1. Click Add Filter.
2. Set Status to Open.
3. Set Owned By to the rep.
4. Click Save as New Filter.
5. Choose whether the filter should be Private or Public.
Admins can create public filters for each sales rep so the team can access the same saved views. Column setup is saved with the filter, so each teammate can keep their own preferred layout.
Optional: Add pipeline flags
Pipeline flags act like visual alerts on opportunity cards.
From the pipeline settings, open Pipeline card flags to configure:
β’ Top Deal: shows a dollar-sign flag for opportunities above a value you choose.
β’ Slipping: shows a warning flag when an opportunity has gone too long without contact.
These flags help reps quickly identify which opportunities need attention.
Set your default view
After saving a filter, use the bookmark icon to set it as your default view. The next time you open that pipeline, Copper will start with your saved layout and filter.
Best practices
Keep each view focused on the decisions your team needs to make. Put the most important columns near the left, use card fields for at-a-glance context, and save repeatable workflows as filters.
