When you first sign up with Copper, you’ll see several requests for permission to access Google services. Think of it as Copper building on Google’s capabilities with tools designed to help you work more efficiently.
What permissions are we asking for?
Here’s a breakdown of what we ask and why:
Basic profile information: This allows us to associate your Copper account with your Google account.
Email access: Send emails directly in the Copper platform, automate emails you send on a regular basis, relate emails to contact or company records, and set reminders to follow up.
Contact access: Import your contacts from Google Contacts and sync them with Copper.
Calendar access: Sync calendar events you have with customers into their Copper records. We also create new calendar events for your tasks.
Google Drive access: Automatically attach Google Drive files you send to customers to Copper records.
What about my data?
We want you to know that we understand your concerns about data privacy. Rest assured, we only use the information necessary to provide the requested service. Your data is handled securely according to our privacy policy. A detailed overview of Google's authorization framework can be found here.
How can I manage my permissions?
We're developing a dedicated page in Copper where you can easily review and manage your Google permissions. Until then, you can manage all Copper permissions within Google at myaccount.google.com -> security -> your connections to third-party apps and services -> Copper CRM.
Note: some features might not work as expected if you don't grant the necessary permissions.
We're committed to making this process as transparent and user-friendly as possible. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact our support team through the in-app chat.
