Copper’s LinkedIn integration lets you capture warm leads, enrich contact records, and find verified emails — all while you’re already working in LinkedIn using the Copper Chrome Extension. This means less manual entry, less tab-switching, and more time focused on building relationships that matter.

Here’s a complete overview of how it works, what’s included, and where to go to get started.

What’s Included in the LinkedIn Integration

Quick Add Contacts

With the Copper Chrome Extension open on a LinkedIn profile, you’ll see a button to Quick Add that person directly into Copper as a Lead or Person — prefilled with the profile’s information. No typing, tab switching or copy + pasting required!

Email Finder

Once a LinkedIn contact is in Copper, the Email Finder lets you search for their verified work email and automatically add it to their record — saving you the time of hunting down contact details manually.

Enrich Existing Contacts

If someone in Copper already exists without an email or updated profile details, the Chrome extension can help enrich that record right from LinkedIn, directly in the side panel.

Hover Match & Profile Matching

You can hover over LinkedIn names while surfing your feed to see at a glance whether that person already exists in Copper, helping prevent duplicates while surfacing context as you prospect.

How it works

All of the LinkedIn integration features live inside the Copper Chrome Extension, so you won’t need any new tools or plugins beyond what many teams already use.

  1. Download & Pin the Chrome Extension
Make sure the Copper extension is installed and pinned in your Chrome toolbar so it’s always easy to open.

  2. Open LinkedIn in Chrome
Navigate to LinkedIn and open the extension while browsing a person’s profile, by clicking the icon in your toolbar. Once open, grant the extension permission to operate within Linkedin.

  3. Quick Add + enrich contacts
Click the “Add to Copper” button to create a Lead or Person in Copper with profile info already filled in or enrich records of those who's contact information already exist in Copper.

  4. Find Email
Once the contact is in Copper, the “Find email” button appears. Click it to search for and populate a verified work email directly into the contact record.

And that’s it — a few clicks and you’ve taken a warm LinkedIn connection and turned it into a usable CRM contact without copying and pasting or jumping between tabs.

The value

LinkedIn is a core tool for prospecting and relationship building, but traditionally it hasn’t been a place you could act on those connections without manual follow-up. With Copper’s integration:

  • You cut out manual work: No copy-paste from LinkedIn to your CRM.

  • Your data is cleaner and more complete: Enriched with contact details.

  • Your follow-up moves faster: Because contacts and verified emails land directly in Copper.

  • You stay in your workflow: Right inside LinkedIn and Chrome, without tool switching.

Email Finder Beta Details & Limits

The Email Finder is currently in beta, meaning you’ll see limited weekly search attempts based on your plan. Attempts reset every Sunday at 12:00 AM Eastern Time. Here’s how they break down:

Plan

Email Finder Attempts per User per Week

Business

50

Professional

25

Basic

3

Starter

Special cases override these limits:

  • Company trial accounts: 3 total attempts across all users during the trial

  • User trial accounts: 3 attempts per week, with a lifetime company limit of 50 lookups

Best practices for use

The LinkedIn integration works best when it’s used to support real, ongoing relationships, not mass prospecting.

Here are a few tips to get the most value:

  • Focus on warm connections: Use Quick Add and Email Finder for people you’ve already interacted with on LinkedIn. Think connections you’ve messaged, commented with, or engaged in conversation. This helps ensure better outreach results and a more accurate CRM.

  • Add with intent: Every contact you add should have a next step. Whether it’s a follow-up message, a task, or a note, the goal is to move a relationship forward — not just collect contacts.

  • Enrich, then act: Once an email is added, follow up while the context is still fresh. Copper makes it easy to send an email, log activity, or create a task right from the Chrome Extension.

  • Avoid bulk or one-off adds: The LinkedIn integration isn’t designed for importing entire connection lists. It’s built for intentional, one-to-one relationship building, exactly where Copper shines.

  • Keep it compliant: Always use the integration in line with LinkedIn’s terms and your own outreach best practices. Thoughtful, relevant follow-up goes a long way.
